It has been about two months since my Disney Vacation, and I am still feeling a bit magical. There are hundreds of reasons that everyone should visit Disney (any Disney park). However, this post will be limited to three.
My expectations for Disney World (Orlando, Florida) were very high when we began planning and researching the trip. Everyone that had been before me talked about how wonderful the parks are. I was informed that I would have the time of my life.
Well… I had a great time. There will be another post coming, of my Disney World do’s and don’t’s, as well as my overall review of Disney World, and the individual parks. For now… let’s get started with the reasons to visit.
Magical Reason #1: When you visit Disney, it’s an EXPERIENCE for ALL AGES!
Age is Just a Number! (Or Not)
Some magical people visit Disney as young as infants, while some are as young as senior citizens. Whatever age group you land in, going to any Disney park is an experience to be had.
If you have been to any Disney park, then I am sure that you understand.
This post is not to say that you will have the best of the best experiences. There is bound to be something that may negatively affect your experience, but overall, I have yet to hear someone say they hated the experience.
The thing that I love most about my trip to Disney World is that it made me feel comfortable releasing my inner-child. I, at the same time, felt comfortable embracing being a grown lady in a theme park.
Cocktails are offered in the parks, and that was enough to make me happy. Granted, I’m not really a drinker, but I wanted to put the wet ink on my license to use. (I’ll be 23 August 5th, so by a lot of standards, I’m still a baby, but to me, I’m a serious grown up LOL).
Even with the larger crowds (and I went at a “moderate” time), I still managed to have a wonderful time. The FastPasses+ are a life-saver, and the Disney crowd control still blows my mind. I have been to several theme parks, and none comes remotely close to Disney World.
From the shows, parades, performers, firework shows, and music everywhere, it is hard to imagine that all of these things can work together. When my cousin and I got tired of walking and wanted to get out of the heat, there were shows conveniently close to us. We could grab a seat, get out of the heat, and watch a great performance.
On top of that… The fact that all of the cast members are so sweet and helpful makes all of the difference in the world. There is someone making sure that there is no trash, clutter, or even dust on the ground.
Disney is willing to bend over backward to assist or help in any way that they can.
Swift service is normal. I was even impressed that the staff would engage us in conversation while waiting in the line. The lines had artwork, good conversation, and other things to keep you entertained, thus making the wait time fly by.
Magical Reason #2: No matter the time you visit Disney, there’s magic ALL day long!
Whether you choose to visit Disney early in the morning, or later in the afternoon, there is a magical show for you. Most of the Disney World parks allow visitors to come in a little earlier than the park opening. Even if they do not physically allow you into the park, they allow you to make it past the security point, which saves a lot of crowd headache and congestion.
Also, even if you do not get to join in the Magic Park Extra Hour, then most rides will allow you to ride, even if the park has closed for the evening, as long as you are in line before the official closing time.
The types of shows vary between the parks. Some of them include your favorite Disney characters, some include fireworks, and some include bands/groups/artists performing.
For more specific information about the shows, you can check them out on the Disney website.
My Favorites… even though you might not care…
My favorites were: Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage, Festival of Fantasy Parade (did not stay for the whole parade), and I really wanted to check out the Festival of the Lion King.
How could I forget the For the First Time in Forever: Frozen Sing-Along? I posted a video on Facebook of my shouting horrendously along with the songs (LOL). Frozen is easily top 5 of my favorite Disney movies. (Of course, they change daily.)
I can easily become side tracked thinking about Disney. It’s nothing short of amazing.
What surprised me most on my visit is the fact that no matter what time of the day we showed up, there was some show available to us. Being on vacation, waking up early was the furthest thing on our mind, so we had to plan accordingly. I believe we only woke up early two of the seven days of our vacation. By early, I mean 6:30-7ish.
Magical Reason #3: When you visit Disney, it brings out the magic in YOU!
By this point, I hope that some of my magical Disney magic has rubbed off on you.
I am already planning to visit Disney (aiming for next year), but this time around, I want to visit Disneyland (California). This park has gotten mixed reviews from my friends, but I will go and judge for myself.
I have a coworker who, ironically, used to work for Disney, in the Animal Kingdom. (What a job!) We share the Disney magic every day of work. We sing to our kids (we work at a summer camp), we share Disney stories, and she is going back in October to visit.
There is no way to visit Disney and not gush about the experience.
Granted, the crowds can be annoying, it could rain on your parade (pun intended), you can get stuck on a ride (like me), but overall, that can come along with any theme park you visit.
There is no comparison of a theme park experience to the Disney theme parks’ experience. Maybe it’s the big kid in me, maybe it’s because I have not had to take a young child, or maybe it’s because I have always just wanted to go. Either way, you come normal and leave magical.
BONUS MAGIC: It’s Disney! No Further Reasoning Needed!
I am not here to sell you on Disney… Just kidding! Yes, I am.
There is no profit for me trying to convince you. I simply think that everyone should experience the magic of Disney.
Now… I have a favor to ask of you. Can you share some of this magic? There are buttons everywhere. It would be greatly appreciated. Also, if there are any other magical reasons that you can think of, I’d love to hear them. Share them below.0
